July 13, 2026 — Trilliott announces a new solution for real-time management of RAIN RFID readers: Dynamic Reader Control™ or DRC. DRC (patent pending) ushers in the era of less expensive and highly adaptive reader infrastructure for healthcare and industry.

DRC is ideal in complex environments where readers must execute multiple applications simultaneously or in rapid succession. For example, in hospitals the location of furnishings and medical equipment must be tracked accurately, and the consumption of surgical inventory recorded, concurrently with other operations such as monitoring wash stations, patient welfare, and storeroom stock. With DRC, one RAIN RFID infrastructure accomplishes all.

DRC is novel because it enables the cloud to configure readers on a one-by-one basis dynamically and very efficiently, even when many thousands of readers are connected. DRC eliminates the need for edge controllers. Readers are plug-and-play, making installation, system integration, and ongoing IT maintenance less expensive.
